Photographic film has never been cheap, but it’s become even more expensive in recent years, forcing many film photographers to put their passion on hold. The aim of the project is to support those with passion for film by selling prints of their works and raising funds so they can get free film stock and services from our partners.

36FRAMES aims to make film supplies and services more accessible to those who shoot on film. £6 from each print sale go to the community of photographers taking part in the project. At the end of each month, all funds raised are shared equally among the artists, and given in form of gift cards they can redeem at our partner darkrooms.

All prints are of the same price of £36. The price includes production and shipping costs, VAT, donations to artists and funds needed to keep the project running.

36 is the biggest number of shots in a 35 mm film roll. Each print also costs £36 and our purpose is to provide every photographer with at least 1 film roll a month so they can take more beautiful shots to admire.

Everyone is welcomed to apply, although we cannot guarantee your application being successful. Please note that due to the high level of applications we are not always able to provide you with detailed feedback.

Although artists do not receive actual money from sales, they get gift cards at our partner labs. All funds raised are shared equally, no matter how many prints of their work were sold — everyone gets the same amount.

We produce digital C-Type prints of 8x10 in size. The prints are made by exposing light onto photographic paper with the help of lasers. The paper is then processed in developer, followed by bleach fix before being washed. This process allows to get high quality professional prints of archival quality.

All prints are for pre-order, so please allow 5 business days for a print to be dispatched. We offer several shipping options with different shipping times.
